This sequence is an internal exercise by Studio Tinto inspired by BBC Two’s comedy series Count Arthur Strong, written by Steve Delaney and Graham Linehan.
The series revolves around Count Arthur Strong, an eccentric, semi-retired music hall performer, and Michael Baker, the bookish son of his former comedy partner who is writing his father’s biography. The series is a Komedia Entertainment, Delightful Industries and Retort TV Production.

Our approach to the sequence hinges on the fact that Count Arthur Strong lives cocooned in his own little world, where he is still a successful and talented showbiz personality, and in order to get a glimpse of that world, we focus on Arthur’s home, which is a collection of mementos from his artistic life as well as a reflection of his personality.

Below are some of the drawings used on the animation as well as some early explorations and reference created during the research stage of the process.
