CAFOD commissioned this animation as part of CAFOD’s education and fundraising resources for young people, it tells the story of Florence, a woman from Zambia and one little fish in the pond that she set up to support her family.

We designed the main character (Bob) who comes in and out of the story as a link to their overall campaign concept of ‘turning small fish into big fish’ – using tracking and compositing techniques we incorporated frame by frame animated sequences into CAFOD’s footage to help tell the story.

We created a rigged 3D version of the main character to use as reference for the 2D frame by frame animation and then rotoscoped it:
